CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm 104)
One: O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
All: Yonder is the sea, great and wide, creeping things innumerable are there, living things both small and great.
One: When you send forth your spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the ground.
All: May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works — who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke.
One: I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
All: May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD. Bless the LORD, O my soul. Praise the LORD!

CALL TO CONFESSION
Nothing can be hidden from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth,
whose wisdom is endless, whose mercy is great. Trusting in God’s grace, let us confess our sin.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Merciful God, we know that we sometimes put great energy into fulfilling human ambitions, carelessly acting as though your will is less important than ours. Forgive us when we do not seek guidance from the Holy Spirit each day of our lives. Teach us to rejoice in the gift of the Advocate whom Jesus sent to us so that we might be empowered, guided and comforted. Remind us that what we build in your name must be built through the work of the Holy Spirit, or we are no better than the builders of the tower of Babel. We ask that you grant us mercy, and breathe your Spirit upon us anew. Amen.
One: Now that we have confessed as a body, let us take the truths that have troubled our hearts to God silently. Let us not be worried about the awkwardness of silence, as we take some time to focus on speaking with our God.

PASSING OF THE PEACE
One: Since God has forgiven us in Christ,
let us forgive one another.
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
All: And also with you.
One: Let us share signs of peace with one another.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYER OF DEDICATION (UNISON)
Gracious God, we are but renters on this earth. All of creation and all that is in it belongs to you. The gifts that can truly be ours are the gift of your Son; the gift of the Holy Spirit; and the gift of your saving grace. These are all priceless gifts offered to us with the promise of everlasting love. May the gifts that we offer today in return reflect our appreciation. May our gifts be used to reveal your everlasting love to the world with the help of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
